inverse matrix problem, why inv(A)*A~=I

hi everyone,
while solving a set of equations i can get a square matrix in various sizes, but whatever the matrix size is, i got singularity warnings.
i tried to get identity matrix with the following statements to provide consistency:
inv(A)*A and pinv(A)*A
but both of them gave a result of nonsense matrices
what may be the problem?
thanks in advance

Your choices of A may be singular?

Yeah. I wonder if the warnings about singular matrices may be a hint that the matrix is indeed singular? :)
